Key Areas and Duration of the Project

The project, titled Promoting Inclusive Labour Market Governance Reform in Support of Ukraine’s Reconstruction and EU Accession, is planned for three years. It includes comprehensive reforms aimed at creating an open, modern, and sustainable labor market in Ukraine, in line with European Union standards and international norms.

EU Support and Needs of the Ukrainian Labor Market

“The European Union consistently supports Ukraine on its path to EU membership and post-war recovery,” said Katarina Maternova, EU Ambassador to Ukraine, adding: “Through this project, we are contributing to the creation of a more inclusive and sustainable labor market that expands opportunities for workers, strengthens institutions, and meets European and international labor standards.”

According to the International Labour Organization, at least 8.7 million additional workers are needed for the effective recovery of the country. The project targets various population categories, including women, youth, internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, and veterans, ensuring their integration into the labor market through a comprehensive reform strategy.

The initiative aims not only to help Ukraine meet the requirements of the European labor market but also to create new opportunities for human capital development in the context of post-war reconstruction and approaching EU membership.
