Performance indicators of major seaports

The largest contribution to March’s transshipment was made by the port of “Pivdennyi,” through which 2.4 million tons of cargo passed. The port of “Chornomorsk” processed 1.8 million tons, while the port of Odesa handled 1 million tons. The ports of the Danube region, including Izmail, Reni, and Ust-Dunaisk, collectively processed about 800 thousand tons of cargo.

Structure of cargo flow and reasons for the decline in exports

The main share of transshipment in April consisted of grains — 3.1 million tons and ore — 1 million tons. Among the exported cargo transported via the maritime corridor, agricultural products accounted for the largest volume — 2.9 million tons.

“Ukrainian seaports maintain operational resilience even under conditions of extremely high risks,” noted the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine.

Experts link the decrease in maritime transshipment volumes to the reduction of sown areas due to the full-scale war, mining, and the temporary occupation of part of Ukrainian territories. A significant factor has also been the decline in industrial production, particularly in the metallurgy sector.
