Partners of the Ukraine Investment Framework Approve New Support Programs for Ukraine

The fifth meeting of the Governing Council of the Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF) took place in Belgium, attended by representatives from European Union countries, Ukraine, Norway, and international financial organizations. During the meeting, key investment areas for Ukraine were discussed, including support for frontline regions, development of the private sector, enhancing energy resilience, modernization of municipal and transport infrastructure, restoration of housing stock, and investments in human capital.

New Support Programs for Ukraine

Participants of the meeting approved another package of programs aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s economic and social resilience. In particular, the European Investment Bank will implement programs to improve access to housing, modernize and restore water supply and sewage systems, as well as attract private capital into the renewable energy sector, infrastructure development, and critical supply chains.

  • The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development will implement projects that will strengthen agricultural production, enhance logistical infrastructure, and modernize the healthcare system.
  • Cardano Development from the Netherlands will focus on strengthening Ukraine’s agri-food sector by financing businesses.
  • Norway will allocate 127 million euros to Naftogaz of Ukraine for the purchase of natural gas.

Investment Priorities of Ukraine

“Among Ukraine’s main investment priorities are support for frontline areas, development of the private sector, energy resilience, municipal and transport infrastructure, housing restoration, and investments in human capital.”

With the support of international partners, Ukraine will receive additional resources to develop a sustainable economy and restore critical sectors under challenging wartime conditions.
