In 2024, the consumption of metal structures in Ukraine reached 91 thousand tons, which is 15% more compared to last year. According to experts’ forecasts, the market may further grow by 10-12% in 2025, reaching 102 thousand tons. This data is provided in a study by the Ukrainian Center for Steel Construction (UCSC), which notes the gradual recovery of the industry after the crisis caused by the war and economic challenges.

Growth Factors and Challenges for the Metal Structures Industry

According to analysts, the increase in demand for metal structures is linked to the rise in import volumes throughout 2024 and positive dynamics due to the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects. At the same time, the development of the industry is complicated by energy supply restrictions due to massive attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities, a shortage of qualified personnel due to mobilization, and logistical difficulties.

Experts predict that in 2025, the consumption of metal structures will again increase by 10-12%, amounting to approximately 102 thousand tons. They emphasize that active state and international support is necessary for the stabilization of the industry, particularly through increased government procurement for infrastructure projects, the recovery of the energy sector, and the construction of logistics and industrial centers.

“The metal structures market in Ukraine continues to recover after the crises caused by the war and economic challenges. Growth is supported by increased imports and the implementation of large-scale projects,” the UCSC study states.

Overall, in 2024, the volume of construction work in Ukraine increased by 15.5%, reaching 204.7 billion hryvnias. According to GMK Center estimates, the volume of the construction market in dollar terms grew by 14.6%, reaching 5.1 billion dollars, but remains 45% lower than the pre-war level of 2021, when it was 9.3 billion dollars. The recovery of infrastructure and new construction projects contributed to positive dynamics in the metal structures sector, particularly the growth in demand for structures for energy facilities and the agricultural sector, while demand for road metal structures decreased.
