Turkey Exhausts EU Steel Import Quotas for the Second Quarter

Some countries have already utilized part of the European Union’s steel import quotas for the second quarter of 2025. According to SteelOrbis, as of April 11, based on data from the European Commission, Turkey has exhausted its quotas for rebar (94,398 tons), wire rod (98,054 tons), hollow profiles (83,949 tons), and certain types of flat products.

“All of the quota for coated sheets (4B) amounting to 20,955 tons, which was allocated to this country in the ‘other countries’ category, has also been used,” the agency reports.

Overall, Turkey has utilized 99.6% of the quota for gas pipes (49,432 tons). Vietnam has exhausted its quota for coated sheet metal (4B) – 20,955 tons, while South Korea has used 16,105 tons for tin products. India has also specified volumes for sheets with organic coating (78,591 tons), stainless steel bars, and light profiles (31,733 tons).
