On April 24, Ukraine reported that it was unable to reach an agreement with debt holders on a sum of $2.6 billion. The country’s Ministry of Finance plans to continue negotiations in search of a compromise. If an agreement on restructuring cannot be reached, Ukraine will have to declare a default on a payment of nearly $600 million, which is due at the end of May and is tied to economic indicators for 2023.
