“The current measures will be canceled in any case”

, he noted.

At the same time, according to him, new quotas for the import of Ukrainian goods, which are already being developed by the European Commission, promise to be more beneficial for Ukraine compared to the conditions of the free trade agreement that were in place before the Russian invasion in 2014. Among the initiatives being discussed in the EU is the possibility of maintaining certain preferences for Ukrainian steel.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that Kyiv is actively working on extending the trade visa-free regime with the EU until the end of 2025. This will give Ukraine time to make the necessary changes to Article 29 of the Association Agreement.

At the same time, the “transport visa-free regime” between Ukraine and the EU has been automatically extended for six months, until the end of 2025. This regime has contributed to a 42% increase in Ukrainian exports by road to the EU and a 37% increase in imports from the EU to Ukraine.
