Controlled Export Will Lower the Cost of Ukrainian Weapons and Increase Tax Revenues

Собівартість серійного виробництва української зброї знизиться завдяки контрольованому експорту, який генеруватиме близько $1 млрд податків на рік.

The serial production of Ukrainian weapons will become cheaper due to the development of controlled export, which could provide the state budget with approximately $1 billion in tax revenues per year.

Ukrainian Manufacturers Aim to Enter the International Market

According to the Ukrainian Arms Manufacturers Council, 94.4% of Ukrainian weapon manufacturers are interested in opening up exports of their products. Domestic arms manufacturers demonstrate a readiness to cooperate with foreign partners and can operate according to the highest global standards.

International Support and Financial Prospects

A breakthrough moment for the industry was the International Defense Industry Forum (DFNC3), which took place in Kyiv. This event marked the beginning of a new stage in the development of controlled export of Ukrainian weapons. Opening up exports will not only maintain production intensity but also significantly reduce the cost of serial products, allowing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to be equipped with even more modern weapons.

The UK Ministry of Defence has officially confirmed its readiness to support Ukrainian controlled arms exports. This decision will contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s defense industry and enhance NATO’s capabilities.

“Arms exports at the level of $3-5 billion could bring approximately $300-500 million in taxes to the budget each year. If volumes increase to $8-12 billion, potential revenues could reach around $0.7-1 billion per year,” said the head of the Ukrainian Arms Manufacturers Council, Ihor Fedirko.

He also emphasized that the final amount of tax revenues depends on the structure of contracts, the level of localization, service conditions, and the timeliness of decision-making in the area of export control.
