“With its current level of industrial production and limited support from the West, Ukraine is able to stabilize the front. However, if there were an opportunity to increase Ukraine’s capacity to produce weapons, say, tenfold, then this ability to stabilize would transform into the ability to push back or contain the Russians. The cost for the Russian Federation to continue the war would become too high.”

The Threat of Large-Scale Mobilization in Russia

According to Landsbergis, the question remains open as to whether the Russian Federation is ready to announce a significantly larger mobilization. He characterized this scenario as extremely dangerous and noted that currently, Putin is refraining from making such a decision. Against this backdrop, the diplomat emphasized the need for continued support for Ukraine from Western partners to strengthen its defense capabilities and prevent escalation from Russia.

The Potential of Ukraine’s Defense Industry

During a meeting between representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine and a delegation from the European Union, Deputy Head of the Office Ihor Zhovkva pointed out the significant potential of Ukraine’s defense industry. According to him, stable investments are necessary to unlock this potential. EU representatives, in turn, confirmed the European Union’s commitment to deepening Ukraine’s integration into the European security and defense system, which should contribute to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.
