In 2024, the volumes of kaolin production and export in Ukraine have significantly increased — a mineral that is of great importance for industry, medicine, cosmetology, and the food industry. The Esan Group, part of the international corporation Eczacıbaşı Group, extracted 60,000 tons of primary kaolin at the Viknynske deposit in the Kirovohrad region.

Increase in Ukrainian Kaolin Exports
Over 70% of this product was directed for export to countries such as Turkey, Spain, and Italy. In comparison, in 2023, Ukraine exported only 2,000 tons of kaolin, while in 2024, this figure reached 43,000 tons. Last year, the value of exported kaolin from Ukraine was approximately 2.7 million euros.
Kaolin Extraction and Applications
The company “Sermin” from the Esan Group is engaged in kaolin extraction at the Viknynske deposit, where the total reserves in categories B+C1 are estimated at 33 million tons. Kaolin is widely used in the production of ceramics, as well as for the manufacture of rubber, plastics, artificial leather, and fabrics.
