Enhancing Defense Potential Through Cooperation
According to the head of state, allies are working with Ukraine on comprehensive approaches aimed at strengthening the security of both Ukraine and its partners. Zelensky also stated that the Russian Federation is currently deploying about 500–600 strike drones daily, while Ukraine uses 100–150 such devices. However, with additional funding, Kyiv will be able to achieve a similar level of deployment of long-range drones, as the corresponding production capacity has already been established.
Technological Initiative and Arms Export
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov reported that preparations are underway for the launch of the so-called “Technological Initiative” — an initiative aimed at increasing funding for the procurement of weapons for the Ukrainian military.
“We are preparing the ‘Technological Initiative’. The key focus is on how to increase funding for the procurement of weapons for our military. One of the tools is to launch controlled arms exports, which will become one of the sources of budget replenishment for defense procurement”
According to Umerov, Ukraine will export only those weapons that it produces in sufficiently large volumes, exceeding the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This will allow for additional funds to be attracted to the budget for further defense procurement and support for the army.
