Denmark Invests a Record 2.8 Billion DKK in the Recovery of Mykolaiv Region

In 2025, Denmark launched the largest aid program in its history for another country – the Transitional Support Program for Ukraine (UTP), with a budget of 2.8 billion Danish kroner (approximately 375 million euros). A significant portion of this financial support — about 60% (1.68 billion DKK or over 225 million euros) — is specifically aimed at the development of Mykolaiv region and the city of Mykolaiv. The remaining funds will be distributed among twenty other regions of Ukraine, including support for additional projects in Mykolaiv region.

Tangible Results for Mykolaiv’s Economy

Thanks to this program, noticeable changes have already been achieved in various sectors of the region:

  • Oil Production in Bereznegovatoye: a local family farm has equipped its facilities with modern equipment for processing sunflower, flax, rapeseed, and soy. This has created new jobs and increased production volumes.
  • Concrete Plant in Snihurivka: a modern concrete mixing unit has been built here, capable of producing up to 60 cubic meters of concrete per hour. The new facilities are contributing to the active reconstruction of schools, hospitals, and communal infrastructure in the region.
  • Eco-friendly Briquettes in Novomykolaivka: local farmers have implemented the production of biofuel from agricultural waste, providing an affordable and eco-friendly energy source.
  • Modern Cherry Harvesting in Kovalivka: Fresh Berry LLC was the first in the region to launch the use of a special harvester for cherry picking, which has improved the efficiency and quality of the harvest.
