European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius reported that over the three years of full-scale war, the European Union and its member states have allocated €140 billion in aid to Ukraine, of which €50 billion has been directed towards military support. This amount is an investment in the security of all of Europe.

Kubilius noted that it is important to transition from the logic of providing aid to the integration of the defense sectors of Ukraine and the EU. He emphasized:
“Ukraine can leverage the EU’s manufacturing capabilities, financial resources, and advanced technologies – from armored vehicles to fighter jets and air defense systems. But Ukraine also has much to offer the EU. Its industry is fast, modern, and capable of creating unique products – often at half the cost of those in Europe.”
Kubilius also added that Ukraine has become a global leader in the production of drones using artificial intelligence, which allows them to be deployed in real combat. This experience is valuable for Europe. To stop Putin, the EU and Ukraine must produce more together, innovate more frequently, and achieve peace through strength, leveraging production capabilities and intelligence, the commissioner emphasized.
