According to a survey by the European Business Association, the majority of Ukrainian companies are showing increasing optimism about their prospects for 2026. The research indicates that 55% of executives expect positive changes in business development, which is an increase from last year when this figure was 53%. A slightly smaller percentage of business leaders do not expect significant changes (30%), while 15% predict negative dynamics.

Improvement in Financial Forecasts and Investment Plans
Confidence in improved financial results has significantly increased: 77% of company executives forecast an increase in revenues in the national currency, while the number of those expecting a decline has decreased to 12%. An additional 11% expect to maintain financial indicators at the level of the previous year.
Investment activity is also on the rise: 20% of enterprises plan to implement large-scale investment projects in 2026. Meanwhile, the average investment amount has increased to $14 million, compared to $9 million this year. For comparison, last year, 16% of companies planned large investment projects.
Expectations Regarding the End of the War and Government Priorities
Regarding the impact of military actions on business plans, 29% of companies hope for the cessation of hostilities in 2026, 19% do not expect the war to end anytime soon, and 52% refrain from making predictions on this matter.
Among the main tasks for the government in 2026, businesses highlight the fight against corruption (60%), judicial reform and ensuring the rule of law (54%), as well as supporting macroeconomic stability (35%). A new key priority has emerged: fulfilling Ukraine’s obligations in accordance with its candidate status for European Union membership, which was noted by 36% of respondents.
