Key Funding Areas and Projects

As reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksii Kuleba, the majority of the funds will be directed towards repairing access roads to border crossing points in the Lviv region, restoring roads in the Odesa region, as well as implementing logistical projects that will support export stability. The first tranche under the “Solidarity Roads” initiative will amount to €134 million.

Particular attention is being paid to the repair of international transport routes: Kyiv – Chop (M-06), Kyiv – Kovel – Yagodyn (M-07), Lviv – Shehyni (M-11), and Odesa – Reni (M-15). These routes provide the main logistical corridors for Ukrainian exports to the markets of EU countries.

“The funds will be directed towards restoring access roads to border crossing points in the Lviv region, restoring road infrastructure in the Odesa region, as well as implementing projects that ensure stable logistics and exports,” noted Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksii Kuleba.

Road Restoration After a Harsh Winter

After record low temperatures this winter, the condition of the road surface has significantly deteriorated. According to official data, damage on major highways exceeds 23 million square meters. This year, the Ukrainian authorities plan to repair 21.5 million square meters of roads to ensure safe traffic and effective delivery of humanitarian and export cargo.

At least 4,000 km of highways in frontline areas also require urgent restoration and reinforcement. Additionally, the signed agreement will allow for the integration of the Ukrainian transport network with the European TEN-T system, reducing logistical delays and improving road safety.
