Ukraine views the export of its own defense technologies as a promising path to strengthening economic resilience and fostering innovation in the military sector. This opinion was expressed by Valeriy Zaluzhny, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and currently the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, during a specialized forum dedicated to the issue of arms export.

Export as a Strategic Tool
“We can use export as a primary tactic to ensure Ukraine’s entry into future alliances and partnerships, primarily through the integration of our experience. I see this as a tremendous opportunity. Joining a security alliance through the export of our technologies and our experience,” he added.
According to Zaluzhny, the export of defense technologies and weapons can become not only a source of additional resources but also one of the main factors for Ukraine’s integration into international security organizations. He emphasized that achieving quality and comprehensive export is extremely important to ensure effective coordination among government authorities, the public, and the private sector.
Supporting the Economy and International Cooperation
Maria Berlinska, the head of the Aeronautical Reconnaissance Support Center, also highlighted the strategic significance of arms export for Ukraine. In her opinion, this sector should become an important tool of geopolitics and contribute to building long-term partnerships with friendly states. The development of exports opens new opportunities for job creation, filling the state budget through tax revenues, and countering the illegal outflow of technologies abroad.
Thus, the export of weapons becomes not only an economic but also a political lever of Ukraine’s influence on the international stage, strengthening its position in the global security system.
