Inflation in Ukraine Reached 8% in 2025: State Statistics Analysis

According to the results of 2025, the inflation rate in Ukraine was 8% on an annual basis. In December 2025, consumer prices increased by 0.2% compared to November. This is reported by the official data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Price Increases for Essential Goods

Throughout 2025, food products saw the most significant price increase — a total of 10.2%. The largest price hikes were observed in meat and meat products (21%), oil (17.2%), fish (16.6%), fruits (15.2%), bread (13.5%), and eggs (10.8%). At the same time, vegetables became more affordable, with their prices decreasing by 29.8%, and sugar becoming cheaper by 9.7%.

Price Dynamics in Different Sectors

Over the year, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products noticeably increased by 17.3%. The cost of educational services rose by 14.4%, services in restaurants and hotels by 13.5%, communication services by 12%, and transportation services by 6.1%.

It is worth noting that the rise in food prices was observed not only in Ukraine but also globally. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in 2025, the average Food Price Index worldwide was 127.2 points, which is 4.3% higher than in 2024.
