Pilot Project for the Use of Humanoids in Manufacturing

American company Nvidia and Taiwanese Foxconn are in talks to integrate humanoid robots into the manufacturing process at the new factory in Houston. At this facility, the partners plan to produce AI servers, the GB300. This will mark the first instance of humanoids being used in Nvidia’s server production, as well as the debut of such technologies at Foxconn’s assembly lines.

Negotiations are expected to conclude in the coming months, with the launch of the robots in production scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, when the factory reaches its designed capacity. According to information released by Foxconn in May, the humanoids are being trained to perform tasks related to cable insertion, assembly of components, and movement of parts.

Technological Partnership and Development Plans

Foxconn is developing its own humanoid robots in partnership with Nvidia, and is also testing models created by the Chinese company UBTech. It has not yet been determined which version of the robots – wheeled or bipedal – will be used at the Texas factory. Both modifications are expected to be showcased in November at Foxconn’s annual technology exhibition.

This project is part of Nvidia’s extensive plan to establish factories in Texas for the production of supercomputers designed for artificial intelligence. In addition to Foxconn in Houston, the company Wistron, located in Dallas, will also join the collaboration. It is anticipated that both manufacturing sites will begin producing goods in large volumes within a year and a half.

“The implementation of humanoids strengthens Nvidia’s position as a provider of platforms for creating humanoid machines, experts believe. The company’s CEO, Jensen Huang, previously stated that the widespread use of such robots in industry will occur within the next five years.”

It was previously reported that Huawei has developed an innovative chip that will enable it to compete with Nvidia in the artificial intelligence solutions market.
