Sweden Promotes Nuclear Safety through Support for IAEA

Additionally, the Swedish government has announced the allocation of 20 million Swedish kronor (approximately $2.1 million) to support nuclear safety missions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Ukraine in 2025. These funds will be directed towards ensuring the presence of IAEA experts at Ukrainian nuclear power plants and in the Chernobyl zone, which will help enhance safety levels and inform the global community about the status of Ukraine’s nuclear facilities.

“This support helps reduce the risk of armed attacks, provides professional consultations on nuclear safety and protection from nuclear consequences, and ensures the provision of impartial and independent information for the international community,” stated the Swedish government.
