Significant Investments in British Innovation

The signing of the agreement was accompanied by the announcement of $42 billion in investments from American tech giants in the UK. Companies involved in the project include Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, CoreWeave, Salesforce, Scale AI, BlackRock, Oracle, and AWS. These companies plan to implement a series of projects aimed at developing infrastructure and research in AI and cloud technologies.

Specifically, Microsoft will allocate $30 billion for the expansion of cloud and AI infrastructure, including the construction of a supercomputer in Loughton. Nvidia will deploy 120,000 graphics processors, of which 60,000 Grace Blackwell Ultra chips will be installed in collaboration with the UK company Nscale as part of the Stargate project. Google will direct $6.8 billion towards creating a data processing center in Waltham Cross and supporting DeepMind research.

Strategic Partnership and New Opportunities

Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized that the new agreement is of significant importance for the economic prosperity and security of both countries. London positions itself as a global center for innovation and aims to attract even more investment through a flexible approach to regulating digital technologies, in contrast to the European Union’s policies.

Companies such as CoreWeave ($3.4 billion in data processing centers), Salesforce, Scale AI, BlackRock, Oracle, and AWS have also confirmed their participation in the investment program, announcing contributions ranging from hundreds of millions to several billion dollars.

“The agreement has the potential to impact the lives of millions on both sides of the Atlantic,” emphasized Keir Starmer.

According to Nvidia representative David Hogan, these investments will enable the UK to become not only a consumer but also a producer of cutting-edge technologies in the field of artificial intelligence. Analysts believe that the technological partnership significantly strengthens the UK’s position as one of the main innovation hubs in the world, while the USA reaffirms its readiness to develop a strategic alliance in high-tech sectors. The importance of cooperation in ensuring the energy and digital security of both countries is also highlighted.
