Trump Plans to Sign 90 Trade Agreements in 90 Days in the US

Мита США: Трамп хоче укласти 90 торгівельних угод за 90 днів.

The team of US President Donald Trump plans to sign 90 trade agreements during a 90-day customs pause. On April 14, EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic will arrive in the US for negotiations. However, at that time, Trump’s chief tariff negotiator, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, will be in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“We will sign 90 agreements in 90 days. It is possible. Ultimately, Trump, the boss, will be the chief negotiator. Nothing is signed without his careful review,” the White House stated.

However, experts express doubts about the administration’s ability to effectively manage such a large number of parallel negotiations. They emphasize that the administration must prove its capability to strike deals with other countries to restore the trust of markets and partners, as well as to demonstrate that there is a way out of this situation.

“Achieving agreements that satisfy both Trump and the financial markets is a gigantic task. There is no chance of reaching a comprehensive agreement with even one country during this time,” said former chief negotiator of the US Trade Representative’s Office Wendy Cutler.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the US has raised tariffs on Chinese imports to 145%, to which Beijing responded by increasing tariffs on all American goods to 125%. At the same time, tariffs were lifted on smartphones, computers, and chips, as well as other electronic devices and components such as semiconductors, solar panels, flat-screen TV displays, flash drives, memory cards, and data storage drives.
