Impact of Exports on Growth Dynamics

The main driver of growth in the foundry sector has been the export of products to European countries and other foreign markets. Despite a number of systemic challenges, including rising electricity costs, a shortage of skilled labor, and disruptions in energy supply, enterprises have managed to increase production. In some factories, production volumes have nearly doubled, indicating the high competitiveness of the industry in external markets.

It is exports that provide the impetus for the development of enterprises. Currently, the production capacities of companies significantly exceed the demand for metal products. The loading of industry enterprises this year has fluctuated between 40-70%. Companies are developing new types of products and working on additional directions, but still, these are not the volumes that foundries are potentially capable of producing.

Production Forecast for the End of the Year

Despite the positive dynamics, there are significant challenges: the loading of production capacities remains at the level of 40-70%, and the demand in the domestic market does not match the capabilities of enterprises. Factories are adapting by developing new types of products and expanding their range, but the potential of the industry remains underutilized.

By the end of the year, it is expected that the total volume of foundry production will reach approximately 400,000 tons. This is less than previously planned (480,000-500,000 tons), but still exceeds last year’s results and indicates a gradual recovery of the industry.
