Ukraine to Open Export Offices for Weapons in Berlin and Copenhagen

Україна цьогоріч відкриє представництва з експорту зброї у двох європейських країнах.

Ukraine plans to open export offices in the capitals of Germany and Denmark — Berlin and Copenhagen — in 2025. This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, who emphasized that this step will attract additional financial resources for the development of domestic arms production, which is particularly relevant given the current shortage.

Weapons Export: Priorities and Limitations

The President stressed that Ukraine does not plan to export the entire range of weapons produced by the domestic defense industry. According to him, only those types of weapons that are manufactured in sufficient quantities will be offered for sale. For example, Ukrainian manufacturers are currently producing naval drones at twice the volume needed for the defense forces’ own requirements.

Another promising area for export could be artillery weapons, provided that adequate funding is secured for their production.

New Approaches to International Cooperation in the Field of Armaments

Volodymyr Zelensky also appealed to international partners with a proposal to fully finance the production of certain types of scarce weapons on the territory of Ukraine. Under this initiative, the produced weapons will be equally divided between Ukraine and the investing country. According to the President, some states have already expressed their willingness to transfer their share of such products to Ukraine.

He added that by the end of November, the Ukrainian defense industry plans to produce 600-800 interceptor drones daily. The head of state confirmed that the government target of “up to 1,000 per day” remains in effect. According to Zelensky, missile programs are also progressing in parallel.

Thus, Ukraine is not only expanding its own defense potential but also strengthening its position in the global arms market by attracting investments and support from international partners.
