Ukrainian Seed Production Attracts Foreign Investment and Increases Exports

The Ukrainian seed market is demonstrating dynamic growth and actively attracting foreign investments, which strengthens Ukraine’s position in the global agricultural arena. Leading international companies, including Bayer, KWS, Syngenta, Corteva, Maisadour, and Remington Seeds, are expanding their production capacities in Ukraine, investing significant funds in the development of the seed sector. A striking example is Bayer’s investment, which directed €60 million towards the modernization of a seed plant in the Zhytomyr region during the war.

Export Growth and Market Potential

As of the end of 2023, the export of seeds produced in Ukraine increased by 50%, reaching $119.5 million. There are 418 registered seed and planting material producers operating in the country, who declared the production of over 500 thousand tons of products last year. The total market volume of seeds in Ukraine is estimated at $2.7 billion, and by 2030, the export potential of this segment could grow to $600 million.
