South Korea Invests $10 Million in Planning Industrial Parks in Ukraine

The South Korean state corporation for overseas infrastructure and urban development (KIND) has announced its readiness to participate in the development of master plans for industrial parks in Ukraine, as well as to work on reducing risks for potential investors.

Expansion of Korean-Ukrainian Cooperation in Infrastructure

Over the past two years, KIND has been actively involved in the restoration of Ukrainian infrastructure. In particular, the company has already worked on the transportation master plan for the Kyiv region, participated in the preparation of reconstruction and modernization plans for Ukrainian airports, and has been engaged in the renovation of railway infrastructure. These initiatives are being implemented in collaboration with cities and municipalities in Ukraine.

Negotiations are currently underway to involve the Republic of Korea in an international partnership aimed at expanding the capabilities of war risk insurance. Thus, cooperation is gaining new directions and deepening in the area of investment protection.

New $10 Million Partnership Program

The South Korean government is launching a four-year Economic Innovation Partnership Program, within which Ukraine will receive $10 million for the development of infrastructure projects. The program includes providing strategic consulting, preparing investment projects, and conducting pre-project studies to establish long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.

It is expected that up to 25 different initiatives will be implemented within this program, which will significantly strengthen economic ties between Ukraine and South Korea and contribute to the restoration and development of Ukrainian infrastructure.
