The Ukrainian company Ukrspecsystems, known for producing unmanned aerial vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has announced a major expansion of its operations in the United Kingdom. The company plans to invest £200 million in the establishment of a new drone manufacturing plant in the town of Mildenhall, as well as to build a modern testing and training center in Elmswell.

New plant and job creation
The future plant will cover an area of approximately 11,000 square meters. As part of this project, up to 500 new jobs will be created in the UK. The launch of drone production is scheduled for early 2026. Representatives of Ukrspecsystems emphasize that the company intends to expand its presence in the British market over the next three years.
Foreign investors’ interest in the Ukrainian drone market
At the same time, it has become known that the founder of the world’s largest private military company Blackwater, Erik Prince, is showing interest in the Ukrainian defense market. He is considering the possibility of acquiring companies that specialize in UAV production. Experts note that drones have become a key factor in inflicting losses on Russian troops, which is why the unmanned technology sector is attracting investors and defense corporations from various countries.
“According to experts, drones have accounted for most of the losses suffered by Russian forces on the battlefield, which is why this sector is drawing the attention of investors and defense corporations from around the world”.
It is worth noting that back in 2020, Erik Prince proposed a multi-billion dollar project to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky involving private forces to resolve the conflict in Donbas, but this initiative was not implemented at that time.
