Flight Recovery Strategy and Route Network Expansion

LOT is already developing an ambitious strategy to return to the Ukrainian market. In the first phase, the company plans to resume regular flights from Warsaw to Kyiv and Lviv, which were key destinations for Polish passengers before 2022. In the future, routes may be expanded to other regional airports in Ukraine, following the restoration of their infrastructure.

Transport Potential and the Role of the Ukrainian Diaspora

In addition to flights from the Polish capital, the carrier is considering launching flights to Ukraine from Polish regions. To service these routes, LOT plans to utilize four modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, each capable of carrying 186 passengers. Preliminary forecasts suggest that the annual passenger flow between Ukraine and Poland could reach 800,000 people. A significant portion of the demand is expected to come from the large Ukrainian diaspora residing in Poland.

The largest Polish carrier, LOT, has announced its readiness to resume flights to Ukrainian cities within six weeks after peace is established and the airspace is deemed safe.
