In July 2025, the labor market in Ukraine’s frontline regions experienced significant activity. The number of job vacancies in the Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions increased by 13% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, interest in employers’ offers grew even more — the number of responses to job advertisements rose by 27%.

Most In-Demand Professions and Market Trends
Traditionally, the highest number of vacancies is observed in the manufacturing sector and among skilled trades. There is also significant demand for salespeople and logistics workers, particularly loaders and drivers. Market dynamics indicate a growing need for qualified personnel in these areas.
Salary Increases and New Opportunities for Candidates
Notably, there has been a remarkable increase in job offers in the defense sector of Ukraine — the number of relevant advertisements surged by an impressive 352%. This sector currently offers the highest median salary, which stands at 70,550 hryvnias (1,697 USD), exceeding last year’s figure by 0.8%.
Overall, compared to July last year, the median salary in the studied regions has increased by about 11%.
Among other high-paying professions, dentists stand out (50,000 UAH, an increase of 11%), long-haul truck drivers (50,000 UAH, +25%), plumbers (43,500 UAH, +105%), and body repair specialists (40,000 UAH, +45%). These trends indicate a gradual recovery and activation of the labor market in Ukraine’s frontline regions.
