Allocation of Military Aid
Of this amount, 4 million New Zealand dollars will be directed to two key funds that provide Ukraine with lethal and non-lethal military support. Specifically, the funds will go to the NATO Ukraine Security Assistance Fund (NSATU) and to the coalition of drones organized by the United Kingdom and Latvia. Both entities significantly enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities in the face of ongoing Russian aggression.
Humanitarian Support and Assistance for Refugees
In addition to military aid, New Zealand is allocating 7 million New Zealand dollars for the humanitarian needs of Ukrainian communities affected by the war. Another 1 million New Zealand dollars will be used to support Ukrainian refugees who have been forced to leave the country due to the conflict.
The New Zealand government emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine not only for the security of the Euro-Atlantic space but also for the stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
“It is crucial for the international community to continue to pressure Russia to end the war and engage in meaningful efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” the New Zealand government stated.
