Corn Market Maintains Leadership in Ukraine’s Grain Exports in December

Експорт кукурудзи найбільше підтримував активність вітчизняного зернового ринку у грудні.

In December 2025, corn exports remain a key driver of activity in Ukraine’s domestic grain market. This segment ensures stable port loading and maintains consistent interest from international buyers. The demand for Ukrainian corn remains high, particularly from European Union countries, including Spain and Italy, as well as Turkey.

Impact of the Security Situation on Corn Exports

Importers are closely monitoring the security situation in Ukraine, as the risk of further escalation of hostilities persists. Traders understand that a swift end to the war is not to be expected in the near future. Given the significant reduction in exports from Ukraine, the global market may face challenges in quickly filling the grain deficit.

Price Dynamics and the Impact of Russian Attacks

Last week, prices for Ukrainian corn were under pressure due to ongoing shelling by the Russian Federation on the country’s port and energy infrastructure. Such attacks lead to delays in shipments, negatively affecting the price situation in the market.

“Indicative demand/supply prices for feed corn with delivery in December-January from Black Sea ports have decreased by $1-3 per ton in less than a week – to $210-218 and $214-222 per ton, respectively”.

Thus, corn exports remain the main driver of Ukraine’s grain market, despite the challenging conditions and ongoing threats from the Russian Federation.
