Leaders in Agro-Exports: Volumes and Market Share
The top three among Ukrainian agro-exporters in 2025 have not changed compared to the previous year. The highest revenue for farmers came from sunflower oil – $5.2 billion, accounting for 23% of total agro-exports. Corn ranked second with $3.9 billion (17%), while wheat took the third spot at $3 billion (13%).
Significant positions are also held by soybeans, which rose to fourth place with revenue of $1.3 billion (6%). In contrast, rapeseed dropped out of the list of the most profitable due to a decrease in foreign currency inflows. Poultry meat rounded out the top five with $1.1 billion (5%).
“Last year, the most profitable categories of Ukrainian agro-exports included sunflower oil, corn, wheat, soybeans, and poultry meat. The top three exporters did not change over the year. At the same time, soybeans rose from fifth to fourth place, although its revenue remained at the level of 2024, while rapeseed dropped out of the ranking due to a reduction in foreign currency inflows.”
Export Geography: Changes in the Global Market
The European Union retains its status as the largest buyer of Ukrainian agricultural products. However, in 2025, there is a decrease in the share of Ukrainian exports to EU countries due to adjustments in trade conditions. If in 2024 the share of exports to the EU was 52%, in 2025 it decreased to 49%.
At the same time, the share of supplies to African countries, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East has increased. Along with this, purchases in Asia have decreased, primarily due to minimal exports to China.
