An Elevator for 30,000 Tons and a Dry Port Will Be Built in Lviv Region for Agricultural Sector Development

A large-scale infrastructure project is starting in the Belz community of Lviv region, involving the construction of an elevator designed to simultaneously store up to 30,000 tons of grain, as well as a modern dry port. This initiative will serve as a starting point for further modernization of the agricultural sector across Ukraine.

Beginning of Nationwide Agricultural Sector Modernization

As reported by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, the new project includes not only the construction of grain storage facilities but also the creation of a network of dry ports, modern logistics hubs, deep processing plants, bioclusters, and new export opportunities. All of this is aimed at the technological renewal of the country’s agricultural sector, with the first phase starting in Lviv region.

“This is the beginning of a large-scale project that involves hundreds of grain storage facilities across Ukraine, a network of dry ports, modern logistics hubs, deep processing plants, bioclusters, new export opportunities, and technological renewal of the agricultural sector. We are starting from Lviv region,” he detailed.

Funding and Project Features

To implement the initiative, a memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Lviv Regional State Administration, the regional council, the Belz City Council, and the company AgHoldCo. The majority of the funding will be provided by AgHoldCo with the support of the investment fund UAF Partners.

The start of construction work is planned for this year. AgHoldCo will cover 80-85% of the total investment amount. Additionally, funds from the Danish State Export Agency EIFO will be involved, which will provide a loan of $12 million for the construction of each elevator. Furthermore, the Belz community will contribute to the funding, allocating no less than $3 million for each sub-project.
