Kernel to Acquire Agro-Region Agribusiness with a Land Bank of 41,000 Hectares and Elevators

One of the leaders in the Ukrainian agribusiness market, Kernel, has received approval from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to acquire the Agro-Region group of companies. This is the second attempt to finalize this deal during the full-scale invasion: previous negotiations were disrupted due to disagreements over the asset’s value. Now, under the terms of the agreement, Kernel will gain full control over Agro-Region along with corporate rights, a land bank, agricultural machinery, and elevator facilities.

Asset Valuation and Geography of the Land Bank

According to expert estimates, the approximate value of the acquired assets ranges from $100 to $110 million, taking into account the location and quality of the land. The Agro-Region land bank covers 41,000 hectares in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, and Khmelnytskyi regions. The group also includes three modern elevators, which will enhance Kernel’s logistical capabilities.

Kernel remains the largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil in Ukraine, as well as the largest agricultural exporter overall. For the financial year 2025, the company achieved a net profit of $238 million, which is 42% higher than the previous year.
