According to Kołodziejczak, the average price of a ton of wheat in the region is PLN 100 higher due to lower transportation costs to African countries. He noted that the grain could come from Zamość, Lublin, and Subcarpathia, where fertile lands are located.

“We could bring Polish grain using the broad gauge that exists in Ukraine, and additionally, possibly that which would be brought from Western Europe and stored with us,” he said.

Furthermore, Kołodziejczak proposed the idea of leasing 500,000 hectares of Ukrainian land to Polish livestock companies, which could strengthen the agricultural sector of both countries.

The minister also expressed concern about Ukraine’s potential accession to the European Union, emphasizing the unknown consequences of this process. He advocated for a 10-year ban on investments by Ukrainians in the Polish agri-food industry following Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
