From September to July of the 2024/25 marketing year, Ukraine exported 767 thousand tons of sunflower oil to India. This is 55% more compared to the same period last season, indicating an increase in demand for Ukrainian products in the Indian market.

Ukraine’s Position in the Indian Market
The share of Ukrainian sunflower oil in the total import of this product to India during the specified period rose to 23% compared to 12% in the 2023/24 season. Despite this, the leading position remains with products from the Russian Federation, which holds 58% of the market.

Export Dynamics in the 2024/25 Season
In July, the volumes of sunflower oil exports from Ukraine reached 464 thousand tons — this is 47% more than in June and is one of the highest monthly figures of this season. The main destination was the European Union, to which 206 thousand tons were sent, exceeding the previous month’s figures by 43%. In July, shipments to India amounted to 121 thousand tons, the highest volume since November 2024.
Overall, in the 11 months of the 2024/25 marketing year, Ukraine exported 4.58 million tons of sunflower oil, which is 24% less compared to the previous season.
