Over 200 Finnish Companies Prepare to Enter the Ukrainian Market in IT, Energy, and Construction

More than 200 new small and medium-sized enterprises from Finland plan to start operations in Ukraine, while large Finnish companies are focused on expanding their presence. The main areas identified for investment include information technology, digitalization, green energy, innovative approaches in construction, as well as the food and processing industries. Finnish businesses are actively exploring opportunities to participate in the recovery of the Ukrainian economy and infrastructure.

Key Players of Finnish Business in Ukraine

  • Nokia – has supported Ukraine’s critical infrastructure for three decades, including hospitals and schools. Among the company’s new initiatives is the establishment of a defense innovation center in collaboration with Ukrainian defense sector enterprises, as well as further development of digital projects and promotion of 5G technology implementation.
  • KONE – has been working on modernizing urban infrastructure since 1991, participating in projects for the reconstruction of housing stock, transport networks, and critical infrastructure facilities.
  • Wärtsilä – a global player in energy-efficient solutions, offers modular power plants to Ukraine and advises the government on implementing energy efficiency and decarbonization projects.
  • Sweco – a European leader in engineering services, has been operating in Ukraine since 1990. The company participates in the implementation of “green” transition projects: constructing energy-efficient housing for internally displaced persons, developing industrial parks, and implementing water purification systems.
  • Hesburger – invested 6 million euros in building a frozen burger production plant in Boryspil and is actively expanding its restaurant network across Ukraine.
