Ukrainian Retailers Enhance Business Efficiency During War

Хто з ритейлерів підвищує ефективність бізнесу під час війни, заходячи в нові сфери?

During the full-scale war, a number of retailers in Ukraine decided to undertake bold experiments, developing atypical directions for their core business. For example, the company Epicenter has begun constructing large shopping and entertainment centers (SEC) in the Kyiv region. The Green Gallery SEC will have a total area of 96,000 square meters, while the Bucha Gallery will cover 97,000 square meters. In addition, the retailer is opening new gas stations (GS), launching a network of small Epicenter Express stores (ranging from 200 to 300 square meters), and developing a network of amusement parks EPILAND.

Innovations in Services and Construction

Meanwhile, the OKKO network is implementing a new service called OKKO Drive, which allows drivers to order ready-made meals at their gas stations. Additionally, OKKO Group has begun construction on a large-scale recreational project in the Carpathians. The new year-round mountain resort of international standard, GORO Mountain Resort, will cost $1.5 billion. Furthermore, the company has acquired a 50% stake in the Kyiv-based company Toka, one of the market leaders in electric charging stations.

New Investments from ATB

The co-owner of the ATB network, Hennadiy Butkevych, is also actively investing in new areas, particularly in electricity production and construction. He has initiated a project to build cottages near Kyiv and acquired the company Aerok, which specializes in the production of aerated concrete.

“Our goal is to adapt the business to new conditions and find new opportunities for growth,” Butkevych noted.
