The US authorities have transferred a portion of confiscated bitcoins and Ethereum to new addresses, according to data from Arkham Intelligence. The total amount of the transfer at the time of the transactions exceeded $10 million.

Transaction Details
Analysts from the cryptocurrency exchange and on-chain wallet tracking service Arkham Intelligence recorded that the US government transferred 97.33 bitcoins worth $8.46 million to a new address. This transaction was executed with confiscated assets.

The main wallet of the US government agency currently holds over $17 billion in crypto assets, with 198,000 bitcoins making up the largest portion of the reserves. It is worth noting that on March 7, 2025, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to create a strategic bitcoin reserve funded by confiscated crypto assets as part of criminal and civil cases.
Movement of Ethereum
In addition to bitcoins, Arkham Intelligence experts also noted the transfer of 884.33 Ethereum, which was worth $1.77 million at the time of the operation, from the government wallet.

One representative of the crypto community commented on this transaction as follows: “The movement of $1.77 million in ETH by the US government raises the question: is this about liquidation, distribution, or strategic realignment? Given previous patterns, this could indicate upcoming market activity. Traders should keep a close watch, as large government operations can impact liquidity.”
It is worth noting that in 2024, the Arkham Intelligence team reported a transfer of 58.7 bitcoins valued at $3.9 million at the then-current exchange rate from the US government’s crypto wallet to the Coinbase Prime balance.
