U.S. Bank Restores Custodial Cryptocurrency Storage Services for Institutional Investors

U.S. Bank відновив послуги зберігання криптовалют для інституційних клієнтів

U.S. Bank is once again offering cryptocurrency storage services for institutional clients, returning to the custodial solutions market after pausing its initiative that began back in 2021. The launch took place as part of an early access program for clients of the Global Fund Services division.

Partnership with NYDIG and Service Expansion

As part of the updated service, the bank is targeting institutional investors, including registered and private funds, that require a regulated solution for the secure storage of crypto assets. Sub-custodial functions will be performed by the financial company NYDIG.

According to U.S. Bank representative Stephen Philipson, the financial institution was among the first to offer such custodial solutions back in 2021 and is excited to revive this initiative. In light of increased regulatory certainty, the bank has expanded its range of services to include Bitcoin-based ETFs.

“We were one of the first banks to offer custodial solutions for funds back in 2021, and we are pleased to revive this initiative.”

Financial Performance and Strategic Outlook

NYDIG CEO Tejas Shah emphasized that the collaboration with U.S. Bank will help bridge the gap between traditional finance and the digital economy. By the end of June 2025, the bank’s assets under management and administration reached over $11.7 trillion. In addition to digital asset solutions, U.S. Bank provides services for alternative investments, ETFs, trust services, custodial products, and capital management.

It is worth noting that in early August 2025, news emerged about the preparation of a White House directive aimed at banning the de-banking of conservative organizations and cryptocurrency companies.
