SEC to Hold Roundtables with Crypto Projects in 10 U.S. Cities in 2025

SEC скасувала позови проти Kraken та Yuga Labs

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced a series of offline meetings with representatives from the cryptocurrency industry, which will take place in ten cities across the United States. This initiative is organized by SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce. The main goal of the events is to provide an opportunity for crypto startups that did not participate in the spring consultations in Washington to voice their opinions.

Features of the SEC Roundtable Series

The SEC working group will focus on young crypto projects that were founded less than two years ago and have no more than ten employees. The organizers aim to hear the thoughts and proposals of such teams, considering their unique perspective on regulatory policy in the field of digital assets.

“We want to hear from those who were unable to attend the roundtables that took place in Washington in the spring and did not have a voice in previous policy-making efforts. The cryptocurrency working group is well aware that any regulatory framework will have far-reaching consequences, and we want to ensure the most comprehensive coverage in our work,” said Peirce.

Schedule and Cities for the Meetings

The first roundtable is scheduled for August 4, 2025, in Berkeley, California. Overall, the working group will visit ten cities, including Boston, Dallas, Chicago, New York, Irvine, Cleveland, Scottsdale, and Ann Arbor. The final meeting will take place on December 5 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

  • August 4 — Berkeley (California);
  • August 19 — Boston;
  • September 4 — Dallas;
  • September 15 — Chicago;
  • September 25 — New York;
  • October 3 — Irvine (California);
  • October 24 — Cleveland;
  • October 29 — Scottsdale (Arizona);
  • November 12 — New York;
  • December 5 — Ann Arbor (Michigan).

The SEC emphasized that to ensure transparency in the process, a list of selected startups participating in each meeting will be publicly released.

It is worth noting that in April 2025, the SEC already organized the first specialized roundtable dedicated to cryptocurrency trading issues.
