EBRD to Announce New Projects for Ukraine’s Recovery at Conference in Rome

ЄБРР запустить низку важливих проєктів підтримки для України на конференції з відновлення в Римі.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will present a comprehensive package of initiatives to support Ukraine during the Recovery Conference taking place in Rome on July 10-11. One of the key steps will be the establishment of the Ukraine FIRST fund, which will provide a unified portfolio of projects for the country’s recovery. The fund will be managed, among others, by the European Investment Bank.

New Energy Projects and Financial Support for Businesses

The EBRD plans to launch a series of energy projects, with a particular focus on the development of distributed generation and the implementation of renewable energy sources. Additionally, the bank will share financial risks with partner banks, enabling the attraction of up to €900 million in new sub-loans for enterprises in critical sectors, including agriculture, industry, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and energy.

Investments in the Stock Exchange and Development of Strategic Resources

At the conference, a memorandum will be signed to establish a new stock exchange in Ukraine, and the Charter on Human Capital Resilience, developed by the EBRD in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, will be presented. The bank will pay special attention to supporting the development of the Balakhivske graphite deposit, which the European Commission has identified as strategic for the EU.

The EBRD will also enter into loan, grant, or guarantee agreements with several Ukrainian cities, continuing its active support for municipal investments aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens.

The EBRD will announce the establishment of the Ukraine FIRST fund, which will work on a unified portfolio of Ukraine’s recovery projects. The European Investment Bank will join in managing the fund.
