According to information from Reuters, the 27 EU countries currently face 25% import tariffs on steel, aluminum, and cars, as well as “reciprocal” tariffs of 20% on nearly all other goods. These tariffs from Trump cover about 70% of the EU’s exports to the US, amounting to a total value of €532 billion.

European Countermeasures and the UK List of Goods

The European Commission plans to present a list of American goods that will be subject to additional tariffs to the bloc’s members on Monday evening. It is expected that these could involve goods totaling up to $28 billion, including meat, grains, wine, wood, clothing, as well as pilot jackets and toilet paper.

At the same time, the UK has prepared a 400-page document containing a list of 8,000 categories of American goods that may be subject to tariffs in response to Trump’s tariffs. This list covers approximately 27% of the UK’s goods imports from the US. Consultations with businesses will continue for four weeks, as the UK government hopes to reach an agreement with the US and is considering all possible options.
