The head of the Ukrainian parliamentary finance committee, Danilo Hetmantsev, emphasized the importance of significant infrastructure projects during the Business Wisdom Summit 2025, which could drive the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) after the war. He noted that the development of transport infrastructure is a priority.

Hetmantsev raised the question:
“If we are talking about railways, where is our high-speed railway? Where are our highways, apart from perhaps ‘Kyiv – Boryspil’? Where is the development of ports, whose capacity could be increased by 25% simply by modernizing them?”
This highlights the need for investment in the country’s key transport arteries.
In addition to transport, the MP pointed to the energy sector as another important area for implementing infrastructure projects. According to him, energy has great potential, particularly due to interest from the European Union market.
Hetmantsev also emphasized the need to focus on processing, particularly agricultural products.
“We need to stimulate the export of not raw materials, but finished products or semi-finished goods,”
he stated, stressing the importance of industrial development.
In Hetmantsev’s opinion, these sectors should become priorities in shaping infrastructure projects, which will ensure a strong recovery of Ukraine’s economy after the military actions.
