“Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Sea Port” has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Batumi International Container Terminal LLC (BICT), which means the opening of a new ferry route between Ukraine and Georgia through the Middle Corridor. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian port, Oksana Kiktenko.

Strategic partnership for the development of the Trans-Caspian route
BICT operates and manages container, ferry, and general terminals at the sea port of Batumi in Georgia. The signing of the memorandum is already the second step in the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR), also known as the Middle Corridor, by the “Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Sea Port”.
Plans for the creation of a new ferry complex
The document provides for the activation of cargo flow through the Middle Corridor by expanding cargo handling capabilities. As part of the agreement, a new ferry route and a road-rail ferry complex are planned to be created, which is being developed by the new owner of the Ukrainian port in accordance with TCITR cargo handling standards.
According to Oksana Kiktenko, “Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Sea Port” intends to become the largest hub of TCITR on the European part of the route. Previously, the port had already signed a memorandum with APM Terminals Poti as part of the development of the Middle Corridor.
