In New York, an agreement has been reached to launch the Ukrainian-American Reconstruction Investment Fund. The first official event of the fund – a meeting of its board – will take place this week, and in September, a delegation from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) will visit Kyiv. These events will mark important milestones for the full operation of the fund and the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Meeting with Leading American Companies
During discussions in New York, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with representatives of key American companies, including Bank of America, Logistics Plus, GE Vernova, Parsons, Mastercard, J.P. Morgan, and others. Investors noted the improvement in the regulatory climate in Ukraine while emphasizing the need for more active communication with the international business community about new investment opportunities. A recent example of success mentioned was the recent listing of Kyivstar on the Nasdaq, which has become a significant event for the Ukrainian private sector.
Interest of American Investors in Strategic Resources
Economy Minister Oleksiy Sobolev reported an increased interest from powerful American investors in Ukrainian strategic assets. In particular, Ronald Lauder expressed interest in Ukraine’s largest lithium deposit – the ‘Dobra’ site in the Kirovohrad region. The government recently announced a competition for its development, in which TechMet, one of Lauder’s investors, may participate. Notably, the largest shareholder of TechMet is DFC – the main partner in establishing the investment fund between the USA and Ukraine.
“It makes perfect sense when a company that DFC invests in is interested in developing minerals in Ukraine, according to the agreement,” Sobolev added.
The involvement of American investors in the development of Ukrainian resources could provide an important boost to the country’s economy and further strengthen the partnership between Ukraine and the USA.
