Ukraine Can Increase Drone Production by 40% in 2025 with Partner Support

Україна за фінансової підтримки партнерів може цьогоріч збільшити виробництво дронів ще на 40%.

Ukraine has the potential to significantly boost drone production in 2025 if it receives adequate financial support from international partners. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during the GLOBSEC 2025 international forum.

This is reported by Бізнес • Медіа

“We must support all forms of defense cooperation, especially those that help us become more technologically advanced and utilize drones of all kinds: in the air, on land, and at sea. Ukraine is ready to increase drone production by 40% in the near future, even this year. Our factories have the necessary capacity; we only lack funding. This needs to be addressed.”

The Need for Funding to Develop Drone Technologies

Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian defense industry already possesses everything necessary to scale up production, and the main obstacle to achieving new targets remains financial support. The president called on international partners to intensify their support to ensure a technological advantage over the adversary.

Zelensky stressed the importance of rapid response: “to be faster in drones than our enemies”.

The EU’s Position on Supporting the Ukrainian Defense Sector

At the same time, European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius spoke at the Brussels Forum organized by the German Marshall Fund, urging European states to utilize available EU financial and credit resources to strengthen Ukraine’s defense industrial complex.

According to Kubilius, cooperation with Ukrainian arms manufacturers is beneficial for European partners—Ukraine is capable of producing high-quality weapons at significantly lower costs than in EU countries.

Thus, the further increase in drone production in Ukraine directly depends on the determination and speed of action of international partners regarding financial support for the defense sector.
