The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a number of draft laws in the first reading that adapt Ukrainian legislation to European standards in the areas of market surveillance, accreditation of conformity assessment bodies, and technical regulation. Specifically, draft law No. 12221 aims to align Ukrainian norms with European ones in the field of accreditation.

“It will help Ukrainian businesses integrate more easily into the EU markets, promote trade, and enhance economic relations with European business partners,” the Ministry of Economy stated.
The draft law on improving state market surveillance (No. 12426) introduces the latest European standards for the safety of non-food products and consumer rights protection, as well as creates favorable conditions for fair competition in the market.
“The new rules will help better control products, especially those sold online or imported from abroad. This will protect consumers from dangerous goods. Additionally, the changes will create fair conditions for businesses: honest entrepreneurs will receive support, while unfair competition will decrease. The new rules will help Ukrainian products more easily enter European markets. This is another important step towards signing the ACAA agreement,” the ministry emphasized.
