According to the results of the first five months of 2025, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 2.057 million tons of metal products, which is 2.4% less than in the same period last year. However, the sales structure of this product is undergoing significant changes: the share of exports decreased from 65.4% to 61.5%, amounting to 1.541 million tons, while the domestic market received 966 thousand tons of rolled products and semi-finished products, which is 8.8% more than last year.

Changes in the Export and Import of Metal Products
The basis of exports in 2025 is flat rolled products, which account for 46.59% of the total volume, significantly exceeding last year’s figure of 40.30%. In contrast, the share of semi-finished product exports decreased from 46.79% to 32.23%. In the structure of imports, flat rolled products also dominate, occupying 76.83% of the imported product volume over the five months. However, this share has decreased compared to the same period in 2024, when it was 82.09%.
Recovery of the Domestic Market for Metal Products
Domestic consumption of metal products from January to May 2025 increased to 1.558 million tons, which is 14.48% more than the previous year. The share of imported products in the Ukrainian market reached 37.98%, compared to 34.74% in 2024. Experts note the gradual recovery of the domestic metal product market and the reorientation of some products that were previously exported to meet the needs of the Ukrainian economy.
