Ukraine is one of the few countries in Europe that has the capability to extract titanium. These mineral deposits are expected to attract American investors as a result of the agreement on natural resources with the United States, explained Dr. Olena Remezova, a doctor of geological sciences.

The Importance of Titanium for Industry
Titanium has a wide range of applications across various sectors, and its production is characterized by high added value. According to Remezova, titanium is used in the military-industrial complex, as well as in the production of modern aircraft, ships, and weapons. “Any engineering requires titanium,” she emphasized.
Furthermore, titanium is also a crucial element in the field of prosthetics. By combining titanium extraction with lithium, powerful batteries for hybrid cars can be created. Titanium ores are significant for American investors also in the context of producing cutting-edge fighter jets.
Titanium and Its Components
Remezova noted that titanium ores contain elements such as scandium and vanadium, which are used in alloys for the production of F-16 and F-35 aircraft. “It takes several hundred kilograms of scandium to manufacture one aircraft,” she added.
“Ukrainian titanium reserves are estimated to be about 20% of the global volume, which significantly exceeds the reserves in Russia.”
