Canadian Business Interested in Joint Projects with Ukraine

At the Black Sea Security Forum, Canada’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Natalka Tsmok, emphasized that Ukraine is gradually changing its status from a buyer to a producer of modern weapons. She noted that Canadian companies specializing in weapon manufacturing are showing increasing interest in collaborating with Ukrainian partners, particularly in areas such as drone development and armored vehicles. According to Tsmok, the format of cooperation between the countries is evolving: from traditional aid in the form of donations to investment projects that include the so-called “Danish model.”

“This is a win-win option for Canada, Ukraine, and Europe.”

Increased Arms Production and Investment Potential

Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine has significantly increased its own arms production and can now meet about 40% of the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for military equipment and supplies. At the same time, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal described the defense-industrial complex and military-tech as the most promising sectors for investment in the Ukrainian economy.
